ALPBACH

A true picture-perfect resort nestled in the Austrian Tyrol

RESORT OVERVIEW

Great for families with small children

The charming and traditional resort of Alpbach is lined with beautiful old buildings and oozes with rustic alpine appeal.

The resort itself is great for families with small children as the nursery slopes are right on the doorstep and there are enough in-resort activities to keep them entertained once off the slopes.

The main skiing area is approximately 1 mile from the village centre and can be reached by free shuttle bus.

All in all the resort has a loyal following of holiday makers who can’t get enough of the raw alpine vibe.

SKI AREA

Plenty of opportunity for free-riding

The ski area is small and compact with immaculate piste grooming.

Although there is not huge extent of skiing here, there is enough to keep most skiers occupied.

Beginners will love the sunny nursery slopes near the village centre and for a change of scenery can head to the open runs on the “Wiedersbergerhorn”.

Alpbach ski slope / piste

The resort is geared towards intermediates with a decent selection of cruisy runs on the Wiedersbergerhorn and tree-lined pistes that will take you all the way down to Inner Alpbach.

Expert skiers will find limited challenges at Alpbach however, the off-piste run into Hygna (take a guide) is not for the faint hearted and there are some black runs on Wiedersbergerhorn to explore.

Boarders will enjoy the natural terrain on offer and plenty of opportunity for free-riding.

Vibrant après ski

For a small resort it certainly makes up for its size with avibrant après ski scene.

For traditional Austrian partying head to Jokober or Waschkuchl and if its food you are after there is plenty of choice in this charming resort.
